Questions junk removal owners ask about marketing

Straight answers on volume pricing, same-day ads, national franchises, reviews, referrals, the Google benchmark data and the free 14-day trial.

How many Google reviews does a junk removal company need?

Enough to sit next to the franchise without looking new. Across 5,171 hauling listings the median is 44 reviews, 38.3% have fewer than 25, and 32.2% have passed 100. In a competitive metro the map pack is usually all three-digit profiles. The good news for this trade is that you finish two to six jobs a day and every one of them is a review opportunity at the truck. See the reviews guide.

Should I put prices on my website?

Yes, as a volume range. Customers searching for junk removal want to know what a half load costs before they call, and the companies refusing to say lose the click to the ones that will. Publish a minimum load, a quarter, a half, three quarters and a full truck with real dollar figures for your market, then say the price is confirmed on site. The full method is in the pricing guide.

How do I compete with a national franchise in my city?

Not on ad budget. On price transparency, on speed, and on the jobs they handle badly. Franchises quote high, book two or three days out, and rarely take small single-item hauls. Publish your volume pricing, answer the phone inside three rings, offer same-day where you have capacity, and take the $95 mattress job that builds a review and a neighborhood. Detail in the Google Ads guide.

Is same-day service worth advertising?

It is the strongest angle in this trade. A person calling about junk usually has a deadline: a closing, a move-out, an inspection, a dumpster that never arrived. Say "same-day pickup if you call before 1 p.m." in the ad, the headline, and the Google post. If you cannot always deliver it, say "often same-day, always within 48 hours" and keep the promise.

What does a junk removal lead cost on Google Ads?

In most US metros $20 to $70 per call, higher where a franchise is bidding hard on brand-adjacent terms and lower in smaller markets. Budgets under $1,000 a month can work here because the terms are cheap compared to plumbing or HVAC. Money gets wasted on broad match, on running ads at 9 p.m. when nobody answers, and on sending clicks to a page with no price.

How do I get realtor and property manager referrals?

By making yourself the person who solves a deadline. Realtors need a house emptied before photos or before a closing. Property managers need a unit cleared between tenants, often the same week. Ask for a standing rate sheet rather than a favor, give them a direct cell number, and invoice on terms instead of demanding cash on site. Twenty active referral sources can carry a truck through winter.

Should I add dumpster rental?

If you already have storage, a roll-off trailer or a dump trailer pays for itself on the jobs you currently decline: roofers, remodels, and homeowners who want a week to fill it themselves. It also gives your website a second service page and a second set of search terms. Start with one trailer and quote a flat weekly rate with a tonnage cap.

Do truck wraps still bring calls?

Yes, and they are the cheapest advertising in this trade because your truck sits in driveways all day in the exact neighborhoods you want. A full wrap runs $2,500 to $4,500 and lasts five to seven years. Put a phone number readable from 40 feet, one price anchor, and the words "same day" on the side. Skip the list of twelve services.

How trustworthy is the benchmark data?

It is public Google listing data collected at scale, from a smaller sample of 5,171 listings, so it is accurate to within a couple of points rather than to the decimal. It also mixes junk removal, debris removal and dumpster rental categories, which is honest to how the trade actually operates but blurs the edges. Method and limits are on the about page.

Where does the benchmark data come from?

Public Google Business Profile listings found through Google Maps searches for hauling and debris removal businesses in 51 states. Only public business fields are kept, never reviewer names or personal details, and duplicates are removed by Google place before anything is computed.

What is included in the free 14-day trial?

Any one of the services we run, or several at once: Google Ads management, Meta ads, AI search optimization, local SEO and Google profile work, website design, social media, review generation, missed-call text-back and follow-up, email and SMS campaigns, bookkeeping, and cold-call appointment setting. Setup, day-to-day management and reporting are included. If you choose to run ads, the ad spend you pay Google or Meta is yours.

What happens after the 14 days?

You choose. Keep the service at the monthly price quoted before the trial starts, move to a different service, or stop entirely. Nothing renews on its own, nothing is charged during the trial, and the accounts stay in your name either way.

Do I have to give a credit card?

No. There is no card on file at any point during the trial. We ask for access to the accounts involved and about 20 minutes on a setup call.

How quickly can it start?

Most services go live within 48 hours of that call. Google Ads and Meta ads need your ad account and billing in place first. A website takes about a week to a first draft you can review.
